Arridian turned 5 wks old yesterday 2nd pediatrician visit

Arridian turned 5 wks old yesterday. The pediatrician visit was yesterday and he now weighs 10lbs and 10 oz and is 22.75 inches long w/ a 38 cm/ 15 inch head circum. Last weekend he took his 2nd road trip to Cripple Creek and the Royal Gorge. We even saw the cliff dwellings in Manitou Springs. The weekend before on the 11th, we went for his 1st car trip 10 hrs each way to IA and SD. We stopped by Spencer IA and saw the Cooper grandparents. Then we went to SD to our friend Jordan and Amanda's wedding. He's doing great with the traveling!

Our first road trip as a family

Well tonight we'll attempt our first real road trip. It's a 10 hr drive to Spencer/Sioux Falls. Jordan is getting married so we're headed his way there. I'm curious if Arridian will do ok w/ bottles for the road or if we'll be pulling over every 2 to 3 hrs for him to eat. I pumped so we have enough bottles for the way there and the way back just in case. Wish us luck.

Arridian is 3 wks old today

It's crazy that our little Arridian is 3 wks old today. I don't go back to work until Dec so we still have a lot of time left together thank goodness. He is already pushing off of us when we have him on our chest and he raises his head and looks around. We're still up about every two hours for feedings during the night and sometimes more often during the day. Brian had a week off when he was born and we loved having him home to help out. Grandma Karen came over for about 4 days too and that was very helpful as well. We look forward to our first long car ride 10 hrs one way to Sioux Falls SD this weekend for Jordan's wedding. On the 26th of Sept Brian and I snuck away for a few hours to go to a concert of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Arridian stayed in a hotel w/ our friend Rocie less than a mile away and I played the crazy mom checking in every hour for the 3 and a half hours we were away from him. He did great though and enjoyed his 2nd bottle of breast milk just fine. Rocie said when she was holding him he had his eyes closed and then started rooting around and looked confused, opened his eyes and looked at her and his eyes got bigger than his head when he realized it wasn't mama and she took the cue and gave him the bottle. So overall he did great, better than mama!
